Messaging & Communication Policy

Last updated: March 11, 2026

This policy describes how Melvo and the businesses that use the Melvo platform handle SMS and email messaging. It is intended for recipients of messages, carriers, and compliance reviewers.

Who Sends Messages

Melvo is a B2B software platform. Melvo does not send messages to consumers on its own behalf. All SMS and email messages delivered through the Melvo platform are sent by subscribing businesses to their own customers — people who have interacted with that business and provided consent to receive follow-up communications.

The subscribing business is the sender. Melvo is the delivery infrastructure.

No Cold Outreach. No Purchased Lists.

Businesses using Melvo are required to obtain prior express written consent from each customer before that customer's contact information is submitted to the platform. Required consent language is:

"By providing your phone number, you agree to receive automated SMS messages from [Business Name] about your recent visit. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Consent is not required as a condition of purchase."

Melvo requires businesses to comply with all applicable messaging laws including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and all carrier requirements. Melvo does not independently verify consent — that obligation rests with the subscribing business.

Message Content

Send Windows

All messages are delivered only between 8:00am and 9:00pm in the recipient's local time zone, in compliance with TCPA guidelines. Messages scheduled outside this window are held and delivered at the next available compliant time.

Opt-Out — STOP to Unsubscribe

Recipients may opt out of messages at any time by replying to any SMS with one of the following keywords:

Opt-out requests are processed immediately. No further messages will be sent to that phone number from that business. Opt-outs are permanent until the recipient contacts the business directly to re-consent.

Melvo collects SMS consent on behalf of subscribing businesses through a standardized opt-in form presented to end consumers at point of sale or intake. The consent form explicitly identifies the subscribing business by name, describes the type of messages the consumer will receive, and includes all required STOP, HELP, and data rate disclosures.

Consent is never a condition of purchase. Consumers must affirmatively check an unchecked box to provide consent — pre-checked boxes are never used.

To view an example of the consent form displayed to end consumers, see our SMS Consent page.

Help and Support

Message and Data Rates

Standard message and data rates may apply depending on the recipient's mobile carrier plan. Melvo does not charge recipients for receiving messages.

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies by business. Recipients may receive up to 2 messages per visit (one SMS and one email). Businesses control their messaging cadence within platform limits.

No Third-Party Marketing Use

Phone numbers and contact information collected through the Melvo platform are not shared with third parties for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Contact data is used solely to deliver messages on behalf of the subscribing business.
